The Mind Chapters Programme

What we offer

Mind Chapters is a unique, story-based wellbeing programme, designed to support children’s emotional understanding, resilience, and self-awareness through narrative, reflection, and guided conversation.

Our original Mind Chapters stories explore emotional experiences in relatable and engaging ways, creating a safe and inclusive space where children can recognise feelings, reflect on challenges, and connect with characters’ experiences. Within each story world, children practise noticing thoughts, managing emotions, and experimenting with practical strategies:  building confidence before applying these skills in real-life situations.

Each story in the Mind Chapters coaching programme is carefully crafted for use within one-to-one wellbeing sessions, combining emotional exploration with accessible tools that help children develop emotional literacy in a way that feels natural, creative, and supportive.

Alongside our story-based one-to-one coaching sessions, where stories form the heart of the emotional exploration, we also offer story-led workshops, group sessions, creative wellbeing activities for schools and community settings and a children's book series.

Our book series brings Mind Chapters stories into homes and classrooms. Each book invites children into imaginative narratives and includes peer reflections from the children in the coaching workbook, helping young readers pause, notice, and think about feelings and thoughts. These stories support emotional awareness, reflection, and practical engagement in a way that complements the work done in coaching sessions.

We also empower children to write, illustrate, and share their own wellbeing stories — stories for kids, by kids — encouraging self-expression, empathy, and a lifelong love of reading and writing. Through our children’s publishing projects and Mind Chapters storybooks, we provide resources that support wellbeing and self-awareness both at home and in the classroom.

From one-to-one coaching and school-based sessions to community workshops and publishing projects, everything we do is rooted in the belief that stories help children make sense of their inner worlds and that when children feel understood, they are better equipped to thrive.

Some Mind Chapters stories are created specifically for use within one-to-one wellbeing coaching and are not available for individual purchase. These stories are used as part of supported sessions, where reflection and discussion are guided. Alongside this, we create a growing range of standalone storybooks and teacher resources that can be purchased by schools, educators, and families. These books are designed to be used independently or alongside workshops and group sessions.

These stories include:

  • Reflection prompts to support emotional awareness

  • Optional creative or discussion-based activities

  • Guidance for adults to support safe, thoughtful conversations

5. Training & Outreach

(for schools, teachers, and parents)

We offer training, guidance, and outreach sessions that support emotional wellbeing and literacy through storytelling.

These sessions focus on:

  • Fostering creativity and emotional expression

  • Supporting safe, inclusive emotional conversations

  • Helping adults use stories confidently to explore feelings and experiences.

Training and outreach can be delivered through school-based sessions, workshops, or community settings.

6. Mind Chapters Champions Programme (Schools)

Within the Mind Chapters story world, children are introduced to a set of characters who appear at the beginning of each book. These characters gently guide children through different wellbeing themes, helping them explore emotions, thoughts, friendships, and everyday challenges in ways that feel relatable and safe. Building on this storytelling approach, we also offer the Mind Chapters Champions Programme for schools. This programme invites selected pupils to become Mind Chapters Champions - young wellbeing ambassadors who help promote kindness, emotional awareness, and supportive friendships within their school community. With age-appropriate training and guidance from Mind Chapters facilitators, Champions learn simple ways to:

  • Encourage kindness, empathy, and respectful communication

  • Help create a positive and inclusive school culture

  • Support peers by promoting wellbeing conversations and activities

  • Model healthy ways of noticing and talking about feelings

Mind Chapters Champions are not expected to take on adult roles or provide counselling. Instead, they act as positive role models, helping to encourage small everyday actions that contribute to a kinder, more emotionally aware environment in school.

The programme includes:

  • Wellbeing champion training sessions

  • Story-based activities linked to Mind Chapters characters

  • Champion-led kindness and wellbeing initiatives within school

  • Ongoing support and guidance for staff facilitating the programme

Through the Champions Programme, children not only learn about wellbeing through stories — they also experience what it means to actively contribute to a supportive and caring school community.
